Be careful with the spacing etc.
I know of someone who had theirs confiscated by the DVLA having been stopped by a traffic cop. It was badly spaced and used a coloured screw cap to slightly change a character.
Remember, the DVLA actually own the registration, we simply have the right to use it, as long as we dont breach the rules.
But it always amazes me what some people have got away with.
Oversized and undersized arent normally a problem as long as they are easily readable. Its the spacing and fancy characters that get the attention.

Hello Al,
I have a plate with 2 numbers and 2 letters. There is no space between the numbers and letters (which in theory is wrong) but have never had any issues.
It's worth noting that if you get too daft with a plate, then you may get shopped by a main dealer - they are expressly told to report illegal fonts and other jiggery pokery...

Spacing manipulation
Hi
I had a volvo c70 convertible and bought plate C7 OMY so with a bit of spacing manipulation I had plates made with C7O MY which looked great until I got pulled over by PC Plod on the M62.
I was given a notice to change them back and report to a police station within 2 weeks to get confirmation that had been changed
Copper told me that if it had been number manipulation rather than spacing he would have insisted I remove the plates and if i did not have leagal plates then the car would have to be towed away for which I would be charged
