Choosing colour combinations - how about a new Gallery?
I'm changing my RRS for a D3 and now back with the difficult decision of choosing an exterior and interior colour. The LR brochure isn't much help with this, so...
Martin, how about starting a new section in the gallery to help people making their colour choice? In this section could be a folder for each exterior and interior colour and then users could post examples of their cars into these. It would be a much quicker job for prospective owners to see examples, rather than trawling through hundreds of member’s galleries.
For example, I am considering the Tundra leather interior, but cannot find any pictures.Matt

This sounds like a good idea.
I too would really like to see some pics of the Tundra interior other than on LR website.
We have white (OK, brown) with tundra. I think it looks good since it's not as "white" as the alpaca and not as claustrophic and "urban" as the black. Still gets a bit dirty though. I'll see if I can take a few pics.

I think the Tundra leather interior is the best all round, and very pleased with mine, even though it does show the dirt a bit. The plastics are grey/green as well, which I think is quite distinctive.
If you choose the interior colour first, which is quite easy as there are only three options, it then makes choosing the exterior easier, as you need to choose a colour that harmonises with the inside, thereby eliminating some of the possibilities!
Can you post up some pics of your interior and plastics?Matt

Tundra leather interior
Pictures of the Tundra leather interior now in my gallery. Hopefully, it will give you an idea of the green, grey and Tundra plastics (which are different from the plastics in the Ebony and Alpaca cars), and the leather itself. Personally, I think it is by far the most attractive of the interior colours available, but I know many of you wil disagree!
Hope it helps,
Ray

Thanks Ray. Good job with the pics.
Think I will stick with the Ebony though - I reckon the darker leather will be less hassle from a cleanng point of view.

After just going through the color selection process I would have to agree that an area for pics of the different colors would be a great idea
I know how hard we had to search to get Rimini Red and Zermatt Silver pics due to our 3 month delay here for new colors. It is also a common question that comes back time after time, there is always somebody looking or asking about colors. I must have passed on the Arctic Frost pics I took at my local dealer in answer to one persons question about 5 times now.

There is already the functionality in the gallery software to do this
If, when you upload photos you fill in the "COLOUR" option with the name of the colour (i.e. TANGIERS ORANGE in the sample below):
Then if you carry out a gallery search and type in TANGIERS or ORANGE you should get this photo up
Note spelling mistakes such as "ARTIC" for "ARCTIC" when searching as well
Obviously this requires members to tag their uploads with colours, but those who would upload to a colours gallery could do this anyway, saving duplicated images and disk space 8)

Good to know this. Perhaps now just a thread detailing your tip and then people contributing to the thread can upload/rename their pics in that way. Also would allow people that are always asking about colours to be directed to 1 thread where they would see your instructions on uploading and searching.
If you like I will start a thread "Disco 3 Colours" and see how it goes?

It has to be Buckingham Blue with Alpaca, I work for LR and after seeing hundreds of the bloomin things when I came to choose my own combo I knew the one to go for, but it's a personal thing and it would be very boring if we all had similar taste!!
