| Climate Control going nuts |
|
I have several problems:
- Seat heating is not working on both sides (live value = -40C°)
- outside temperature dissapeared in Instrument
- inside temperature always 20C°
- climate compressor won't start (just filled the right amount of gas)
Any help would be appreciated!

Do all those faults come back when you clear them?

Have you done a diagnostic test on all other systems to see if there's a problem elsewhere which might be affecting your HVAC?
Actually, just thinking now I wonder if you disconnect the wiring harness to the heated seat (not the seat belt/restraint system) and do the diagnostic test again? Alternatively, removing the fuse for the heated seat might be a shorter route. Sorry for the pun!

Here you go:
- Airbag fault = the passenger seat is not mounted
- Aux heater = little low fuel on the car
- Body Control Module = no idea can't feel any difference - thought about sorting the HVAC out first
- Transfer Case = I guess i keed a new one, found some green stuff on one contact, i guess it got a short one by water once
- Vehicle Dynamic =just changed both steering rods, tuesday i'm going to adjust them properly at work

I appreciate all answers.
I checked EVERY fuse behind the glove box and in thr engine room.
The ambient Temperature sensor behind the bumper is okay, next step will be measuring between it and the HVAC controle unit.
In winter my Radio went into PhoneMode, easy fix with removing the MOST cable several times. No problems until i disconect the battery.
I guess water shortened the radio somehow?
So i guess the HVAC control unig got a short one too!? would be ab easy fix... but have a feeling it's a bigger job

Is the key here.
It seens like the HVAC unit using a 5v ref on sensors for control.
as you say.. Inside temp allways 20c.. is this a substitute value cause the HVAC is missing the 5v?
I'd check to see if you actualy have the 5v and if you do, where is it dropping out. Use a DMM first of to check if its present. then do a smal load test on the 5v circuit, usualy around 50mA to 100mA should to it, cause if you have no load you have no resistance, but if you have a wiring issue that will show up as a load and your test light will be dim when you use the "Scope on a rope"

If you could get your hands on a known good HVAC unit and swap them over it might narrow problems down a bit. There are a few different types but are fairly well interchangeable
Probably a ten minute job to swap them out. If you have had a water issue in the past it could be back to haunt you. I’d take a good look at all the connections to the back of the HVAC as a good few of your issues pass through it.
Edit... you need the exact same HVAC unit or it will throw up different faults depending on the spec of your car.

As most things in a LR require good voltages, you need to make sure battery/alternator are up to scratch as a lot of oddball faults stem from this. Another source of odd faults (especially if they suddenly occurred) is the brake light switch

Hi again torque1st, Globetrotter makes a v good point here. One of the crazy things about these vehicles is that they a are a bit like a unruly child! In other words, they tend to throw all the toys out of the buggy/pram or whatever you call it these days, for the smallest of incident.
All dash lights on, HDC dead, suspension dead, hazards on permanently, ABS dead, and a host of other mind boggling faults and codes.
Cause of problem? a brake light switch which took less than 10 mins to fit, and cost pittance. I'm not saying your problem is the brake light switch, but it might help to stand back and consider a different approach. It is all to easy to get consumed by what the diagnostics are telling you, but this information is sometimes a "side effect" of the actual problem, and can lead to you chasing Ghost's. Apologies if I sound patronising, absolutely unintended.

The fault was simple... The IIPCU from Altox messed up everything. I send it back for a check.
