clock restarts at 00:00 after leaving the D3 for a while

Strange behavior

After leaving the D3 parked for a while (no exact time measured)
and then taking it for a drive the clock in de radio unit restarts at 00:00h
Also the radio is not playing the radio station that is was on while leaving the car.

The memory positions of the radio are still OK
So pressiing the 1 is giving the favorite station again.

If the time leaving the car (car off and doors locked) is quite short the clock keeps running ok

Low battery or a loose connection on the battery. Terminals tight?

I had different memory problems with my radio.
The bass and treble settings would be lost most time I switched the ignition off for the night.
Tried a new stereo, with no joy, replaced the underseat amp and it sorted the problem

Battery voltage.

I had this, originally battery was 12.2 volts so put a new battery on. Problem solved.

Yep I get the same regulary as I dont do much mileage so if she gets left for 2 or 3 days clock on dash goes back to 00:00 although mine is the update reflashed clock not the radio clock.

That could explain it.

I have been converting the D3 from 7-seater to commercial.
So it has been in the workshop with doors open and interieur lights on.
And only used to drive in and oud the workshop.

I will take it for a longer ride.

But next to that check the battery and the terminals.

Confused I think the radio will retain the station memory even with battery disconnected, IIRC pressing a combination of the buttons restores them Question

Finaly found the time to have a look

Battery is OK
Wiring is all OK

The D3 is rebuild using a donor car so we have exchanged a number off parts
Looking in the CCF file there was a standard radio selected in stead of the 6-CD changer version.
Strange and unexpected since both have the 6-CD changer radio.

Selecting the right radio solved the issue !!
