has any one experianced problems with clutch release bearings on d3 i thought it was the flywheel on its way out because you can hear it rumbleing on slow speed manouvers but found out today its when you press the clutch in not actually move off.[/u]

Ive changed them, not ever herd of a common problem with them only the normal ware problems.

I have the same now, and have had for quite a while, but clutch never slips even trying (unsuccessfully ) to get out of muddy holes, I am at around 70K miles now. It is only when in neutral and the clutch is mid position, if you put it fully in then it goes away and also if it is in gear it is ok.

Over this time it has never got any worse so I have left it, I was quoted by my dealer £300 to look at it (ie take the gearbox apart) plus whatever else it needs, plus probably changing the clutch whilst its out, plus possibly a flywheel so realistically its going to be somewhere around (over ) a grand.
Think I am going to wait for any sign of it getting worse before I take a trip in. Joined the BMWX5 45e group
