what's all this suburbanist stuff got to do with coulour then? I reckon if they did it a nice pearlescant version of the grey might be good? and theeeeennn......???

Sorry, got carried away!
As I said, white looks mean when it's clean, like the real LR it is when it's muddy, doesn't show the scratches from hedges, trees, etc. and being a solid colour is easier to patch if it does, is cooler and (may be a little bit) more economical?.
Now, what colour did we choose ?.....

It would have been easier if current D3(zambesi silver)worked properly in the first place,so after all the bad luck I want to change to new colour so I think I will go for black...no I mean white....no no that nice blue or wait now the bonatti looks good and the green......oh what's the use!  ....

I can totally see where you’re coming from with wanting to change from Silver. If you got another one in Zambezi, it would be like you never changed.
The D3 does look very well in Java, but black is a very difficult colour to keep clean. Even if you do keep it cleaned, it will eventually show all those swirl marks of the sponge, brush or chamois.
I think both the blues, Cairns & Buckingham look very dead & heavy on a D3. Cairns looks fab on a RRS but it just doesn’t suit the D3 at all IMHO, Buckingham would be better, but still it’s not quite right.
As far as any of the greens are concerned, I was told many years ago that “a green car is an unlucky car†& to this day that has remained with me, so I will never buy a green car.
So you like Java, but are not sure…….you like Zambezi, but quite rightly you want a change….so……..could I suggest Bonatti as it is essentially a mix of the two.

Ireland is a very small market compared to the UK. So we have to be very careful with resale values here, particularly with something as expensive as a D3. So it would be wise to stick to the “safe†colours……….Java, Zambezi & Bonatti. Nice and all as some of the other colours are, you might find that when it comes to trade in a few years, your residual value could be affected.
I would have liked my Zambezi to have had an Alpacca interior, but was advised by more than the one LR dealer, that it would affect the trade in & to go for Ebony instead !!
As it turned out it didn’t matter in the end, as I went for a dealer stock vehicle.
But it is something to consider…………

Silver's not boring  , it looks superb on the Discovery as do many of the other colours. My first Discovery 3 was Adriatic Blue and like marcon I wanted a different colour when it was swapped. I like to have a different colour everytime I change my car - I may go back to blue again in the future but if I was to have the same colour time after time that would be boring (well to me it would). 1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

My wife comes home yesterday and says she saw a D3 in a light blue colour that she described as beautiful!
I go to the catalog and look through all the available colours once again and there are only the two really dark blues available. I keep asking her if she was sure it was a D3 and she says 'yes I was right next to it' and it was a light blue colour.
Can't figure that one out. Our order is for Zermatt Silver 06 Build which should arrive here in May. So even if there was some new colour on the way in 2006 build vehicles it would not be here yet. As far as I know the only two chages here are the introduction of Zermatt Silver & Rimini Red.

They can look blue in some lights. Zermatt silver 06 reg.

Could have been Arctic Frost which I the colour I chose, This can look a pale silvery blue depending upon the lighting conditions. See my gallery.

Arctic frost looks great in both galleries but I don't think it is avaliable in Ireland.
I have seen bonatti with priv glass today,looks great.
