What colour is my D3?
Evening folks - might sound like a daft question but the missus is the new owner of a 54-plate SE D3. It's a dark metallic blue colour so I'm assuming that it's Buckingham Blue as that's the only blue colour I've seen mentioned on here but, just in case, is it possible that it could be another shade of blue. I'll probably give a dealer a call with the VIN to double check anyway but I thought I'd come here first as you guys seem to be much more responsive and helpful than any dealer I've ever deal with.
Thanks in advance.

lift the bonnet then on the front bulkhead straight above the grill is the sticker with the colour next to the chassis number (which from memory is a black with white writing on it)

If it's a 54 plate it will be Adriatic Blue (nice colour same as my first D3) which was superseded by Buckingham blue sometime between 55 and 56 if I remember correctly.

If only she'd hurry up and bring it home rather than bussing her mates around on this cold evening then I'd go outside and have a look at the sticker. Will confirm Woody's Sherlock-like deduction once she gets back.

She's back and I can confirm that Woody is correct - it's Adriatic Blue. Thanks to everyone who replied.

This thread's got me thinking now - I've been sure mine's Buck blue (2005 '05), but going to go and look now I know where to! Isn't D3 ownership exciting?

Can I ask why you have the forum name ArmitageShanks? Is it because you get shat on, and p ssed on? Or do you own the porcelain bog company? Run silent, run deep!! HM Submarines Conqueror, Churchill, Renown, Ocelot, Porpoise, Onslaught.
