275/65/18 MT tyres

Just picked up a set of wheels for offroad use on my HSE. 275/65/18 Hankook Dynapro MT. Research on here suggests they may be a tad big. Lift rods or IID update to give extra clearance needed, probably 4 wheel alignment as well and they are about 7% larger rolling diameter vs the current 19s I have on.

They look the business and I recon they would be great offroad on Salisbury plain where it will spend a fair bit of time. Are they worth the faf or should I go with some with some overall dimensions to avoid having to change suspension?

I've done many miles across the Plain with the standard LR size 255/60/18 and 255/55/19 tyres in a D3 & D4. Personally I couldn't be bothered with the faff of making them fit, informing insurers, having speedo slightly out, etc.

If anything, the narrower the tyres the better when you're driving in ruts that have been made by Army Defenders. Thumbs Up

I am kinda leaning that way at the moment. Perhaps get some 18s with the same rolling circumference and sell on the 275s.

They do look good Smile
With the lift rods and off-road height that is actually super extended height isn't it?
How much were the lift rods? Seem like a lot of dosh for a tiny part.

Yeah it's extended height on normal lift rods. Think they were about £120 It was before I had the iid tool. I brought them on the way home from picking the truck up.

Decided to sell the MT tyres and rims in the end. Seemed too much faff with suspension and speedo misreading.
Managed to pick up a set of new AT3s on D4 rims for a good price - 255/55/19 so no fitting issues. Bargain too. Very Happy
