Manufacturing issue. There is a service bulletin on this and the dealers should be replacing it under warranty. I take it this is for a 2014 MY onwards one with the LED DRLS?1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8

It’s a silly bit of plastic anyway, don’t expend any effort in trying to fix it. Simply throw it in a deep, dark corner at the back of the garage and replace it with one of Uncle Ray’s bash plates - it’s far better looking and more dignified for a proper Disco anyway! 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

We put nylon cord on ours by drilling two small holes..tied it to front eye...lost one on a river crossing but kids saved it.....lesson learnt
