Thanks for that update Dave, very useful. My original point was that I felt that the box reverting to drive on it's own was a bit of a risky business under certain circumstances, you have answered that too, yes seems a software update is required Thumbs Up

I think most 2012 owners are looking for the opposite effect, ie a more responsive throttle as it couldn't be much worse in my opinion !

DaveT - you had Gilbert, so to speak?

They gave me two vouchers before I even agreed to the sale, first one we had Gilbert in a Defender (last week), Shocked Shocked and then the D4 this week.

one other point to note for those with this gearbox, when you stop the engine if you leave it in R D or S then it will go back to P automatically, however if you leave in N then it will remain there.

I think it will remain in neutral for 10 mins then go to P .... time to go though a car wash the manual says

On the subject of Landrover Experience I just did mine at Rockingham Castle, it was fantastic! during the mud and ruts bit the instructor told me its possible to put the car in Super Extended mode from the car (without grounding it) and landrover have in the last 2 weeks allowed them to tell how. Unfortunately im my excitement of the course I forgot to ask him at the end, so if anyone is due to go on a course soon remember to ash !
