I drive mine like a granny, before the Turbo replacement and after...........But I just give the old girl a booting in command shift and back off with out changing gears on each journey.
If you see soot, its done its job in cleaning the vanes.
I am not sure on Dereks driving style, and not sure if it were a Recon/or New Turbo's refitted. Mine was a 2010MY line pinch, so was Brand New. Turbo's were on a 3month+ wait, and under warrenty the dealer was given one off the production line. So will it make a difference being NEW?????
Who knows, maybe your lucky, maybe you aint.

I'm not so sure about that, Mac.
The soot is more about combustion at a point in time than your turbo, which routinely spins at high speed, gathering dust on its vanes. Surely?

What I meant was on the Back off, soot when gathering speed is a different matter. I do it so regular now I see nowt in my mirror, and only the faintest tell tale when in the cars headlight behind me.
