It was on its knees when i bought it , the guy i got it off thought it would be an easy fix with another compressor fitted but it was an AMK so didnt actually fit , the original had a siezed exhaust valve which was stopping the comp running

When you start the car does it come up to standard height ok and does the compressor stop once it’s finished or is it constantly running

I would be looking at the live values as well as the fault codes, it could be a wire rubbed through against the chassis somewhere or a bad connection

it doesn't lose height when parked up at all , when started a number of things can happen , the comp runs for a bit , bong , it doesn't run bong , its runs for a bit as it should then bong yellow warning and then red warning then back to yellow warning , as for live data I don't know anyone close by who has IID so I can monitor it , im hoping my mates snap on will do it but not had chance to borrow it as yet and my Delphi nor the 4Dcan is able to Neutral

This gets more and more curious , ive tried another pump i had and it carries on running even with the amber fault light on and then throws up C1131 code , neither of the others have brought this one up yet

I would still guess gummed up valve, broken wire at the front driver side or a rusty hole in the tank.. usually at the top and front..

Have you checked these..?

I have been there .. and often these 3 things are the root cause of many a Disco suspension system mystery..

1 International Harvester SOLD

2 x D4 both SOLD

Another ebay special, a 2nd hand pump, or a new genuine AMK/Hitachi?

Its defo not the tank , ive looked at all the wiring and cant find a problem , ive blown the lines thru with an air line and theres no dust , ive just tried a different pump that i bought for parts , when i selected off road it started to go up then bong , C1131 came up , non of the other 2 have ever produced that code , also even with the amber light on it continued to operate which is also something new , i thought they always cut out as soon as the light came on ?

Worth a watch as he explains the system not perfectly but understandable
No way saying you should take it all apart like he has but his method worked with testing the pneumatic side
