Hi All,
Someone ran into the back of me the other day. Needless to say their Golf is a right mess, my D4 has literally a minor scratch on the plate that sits in front of the area where you would fit a tow-bar. Visually not even worth a claim, although getting a official check on that today at the garage.
When looking under the car, nothing visible either, but between the bumber and each side of the spare wheeel there appears to be a concrete block each side on a spring that rocks back and forth about 2 to 3 centimetres. Does anyone know what these are ?

They are vibration dampers! Rather primitive, but they help make the car run so smoothly.

They are metal weights on the D3, Harmonic dampers to take out the swaying etc. Harribo
