I have a T-max 6500 winch which is installed on a bak-rak, so it serves as a demountable rear winch (on the towbar). My question is, how do I connect it to the battery? I don't think the towbar electrics are capable enough, so the only way I can think of is long leads that connect direct to the battery. Does anybody know of better alternatives? No answer so far so probably my question wasn't clear enough. I now use jumper cables to connect the winch to the battery. This is probably not the best way (not very practical). So if I wanted to install high power cables to the back of the car, what would be the best solution / place / route to do this. TDV6 HSE Stornaway Grey, black interior

I, (well TFC) ran some cables from the battery under the car to an Anderson connection in the bumper , with a solenoid switched by a swtich in the car Duncan

The man you need to ask is Christyler.
If you search for some of his posts, you’ll see he has done fantastic work & modifications to his D3, including a rear mounted winch.
