Connectors behind courtesy light
I discovered a pair of unused connectors behind the cabin courtesy lights. One is black, one is white. What are they for? It looks like there is another loom in place and I wonder what upgrades would be possible using these connectors

I am not sure about it Paul, as there is only the basic radio, which I think can not be extended by the bluetooth handsfree ...D3 LE James Cook, 2,7 TDV6 auto

Ahh...you've put a photo in now
I think the small white one is for the microphones and the large black one is for the sunroof.
But....I also have the basic radio and I'm pretty sure that I don't have these connectors in mine... 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

OK .....as I said I haven't got these connectors (at least the ones in the photo), but I can't think what else they could be for 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

have you put a meter across them to see if and what power is on which pins???
if you have HSE then you must have most toys installed so is it possible for roof dvd screen etc??Experience is a difficult teacher, because she gives the test first and then the lesson afterwards!!!!

Just been to take a look at mine -
The white 2 pin one wrapped in foam IS for the microphone as previously suggested.
The 4 pin one looks like the one going to the sunroof control switch, (there is another similar 4 pin one going to the interior light.)
Edit; not so sure now the black one going to the sunroof switch has a red insert unlike yours.
I removed the cover from the rear view mirror and there are another two plugs in there, one is s 3 pin white plug wrapped in foam for the light sensor, and a black 4 pin with black, red, green & green/white wires - going to the rain sensor, so it looks like Adrian (Wiggs) was right. Clive

Now we're talking Thanks!
Does that mean that there is an option to upgrade from the base line radio to the high line, which includes the handsfree kit? (I am certainly not going to cut my roof to get the sunroof in )D3 LE James Cook, 2,7 TDV6 auto

Hold on a bit, did you notice my edit?
Best check on the wire colours and number of connectors you have in your 2 spare plugs, you need to establish if it's the sunroof & mic plugs or the rain sensor & dim/dip mirror options you have there.Clive
