Constant horn while driving
Seems our D3 (LR3) HSE has decided to blow it's horn constantly (not intermittent, or pulsating, etc - just non-stop steady wail ) while driving along.
My wife is visiting her parents about 2 days drive from me and just called to say that the horn started blowing while she was out for a drive. She pulled over and shut the vehicle down hoping to reset whatever the fault may have been. No luck - kept blowing while the car was off. Started it back up... still blowing. No fault or warnings in the information display and vehicle drives like normal. She drove it back to her folks and the horn finally went off after about 10 minutes. Still no indications of what went wrong by lights or info display.
Any ideas as to a cause? I wasn't able to find any similar malfunction on the forum with the search tool.
Thanks!

Not silly at all. She thought of that and mashed the horn buttons repeatedly trying to "free" them up, though they seemed to press in and out like normal. Didn't affect the horns, though.
She's going to pull the fuse and call the nearest dealer (1+ hr away) in the morning to see if they have any advice. I'm actually quite pleased that she already looked to find the appropriate fuse! She's learning to be a good Landy owner!
UPDATE: Well she called me while I was typing this. Seems she just remembered that it rained hard last night and she left the sunroof cracked. Not to mention, she's in North Carolina right now where it is insanely humid. I think we have our answer...
I'll admit to not knowing the D3 nearly as well as the D1, but am I safe in assuming that either via humidity in the car or direct water drippage, one of the computers or other electrical connections probably faulted? I told her to run the aircon as much as possible while driving the next few days to try and dry out the interior and I'll check the rest out when she gets home.'99 D1

Does the D3 Horn have it's switched feed in the -ve supply like some older vehicles did?
My brother had a MkIII cortina that did exactly this years ago.
He parked it outside my parents house and for hours the wind kept setting the horn off, which we eventually found was a wire that had rubbed through the insulation and was grounding.
Strangely the horn was switched on the -ve side, so grounding the -ve wire bypassed the switch.

What I was going to suggest. Exact same happened to me a couple years ago. I assume something alarm related got wet but after about a week dry-out period the horny sounds never returned I'm not so good at giving advice...may I offer you a sarcastic comment instead?
