I have enabled both cornering light settings in the CCF but I'm not getting a voltage to the headlight plug on pin 4 Big Cry
Can the voltage be seen without the headlight connected or does it need a load Question
Does car need to be in D or is P ok for testing Question

Ok, has to be in D
The LEDs are fitted are also polarity conscious when fitted to the car.
Not 100% happy with the colour though as they are not an exact match for the xenons and make them look yellow in comparrison but at least they're working Very Happy

Matt, do you have a picture of these on with the xenons in order to compare the colour?

Anybody managed to do this on a 2014my facelift?
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

MY14 Retroft Cornerning

I'd say impossible. Big Cry

Cornering on the MY14 lights is driven from a couple of LED's on top of the semi circular cut outs on the bottom of the lamp - see picture - unit is upside down in this image.

Can't see how this could be easily retrofitted ... so I bought a pair of ABL-Xenons that have them as standard Whistle Laughing

Managed to get the blanks out of my headlight units and fitted the LED's shown in a previous post.
The Cree LED's are yellow coloured but I think they look OK in situ.

I'm still awaiting the correct pins to be delivered so couldn't complete the install but I powered up the LED's on the bench and the colour should complement the xenons pretty well
Also note that the LED units I fitted were not polarity conscious?

Thanks for showing how to carry this out as there is no way I would have started melting my headlights without guidance from this forum Bow down

How did you get the blanks out exactly? I'd like to do this to mine too.

As others have mentioned on an earlier page I used a hot drill bit or screwdriver and carefully melted the plastic and removed the blank in sections.
I remember it being a bit fiddly but not too bad Thumbs Up

Sorry to drag this one back up but I've tried this and cannot make it work. I've got a 2010 D4 HSE. I've fitted some H9 globes, got the correct pins, fitted to pin 4 and 16 as described. I've confirmed the red wire is in the harness and pin 16 has a black for the earth.
Within the IIDTool I've tried the CCF mod but was confronted with
Cornering Lamps (1)
Cornering Lamps (2)

I tried enabling 1 and tested. I tried in the driveway, turned on the headlight tried indicators, no luck. Saw to try when in Drive. Placed into drive, handbrake on, indicator, gingerly got out the car (hoping the handbrake holds lol), still nothing. Checked left and right.
Tried enabling the second cornering lamps option (forgot to disable the first admittedly), still nothing. Disabled Cornering Lamps 2 option. Tried Cornering Lamps (2) on its own. No good.

I'm perplexed now. Admittedly its day time so I'll wait until this evening and go for a drive to see if it works on setting Corner Lamps 1. I can't see what I can have done wrong. A globe is a globe (I've not used LED). Wiring is straight forward and in existence so I'm very confused.

If anyone knows what the two Cornering Lamps options are for I'd be interested.

I note again the error B123A-15 Front left turn signal - General Electrical Failure - circuit short or to battery or open. Same for right. Turn signals are working fine, so presumably related to the above.

I don't get it, all the harness wiring is there, so not sure why it's difficult. Someone mentioned early D4s needed the earth wiring added, but mine has the earth run to pin 16 - I presume given it's there it's actually connected in the harness?

Cheers

Have you checked with a meter if you’ve got a voltage on pin 4?

I admit no I haven’t as I presumed it was much like other “smart” cars that if it doesn’t find a load there equivalent to a globe it won’t light up the circuit.

I will go through basic tests such as powering the light through the plug to confirm the globes work and work from there. I presume it triggers the 12v circuit and not the earth to enable the circuit however I’ll have to take a look at the wiring harness to confirm.

So yep, 12V is activated, pins 4 and 16 are correct. I can't explain it so back to simple diagnosis - confirm globes work in light housing manually, then troubleshoot from there.

Kill me now? How can this be so hard?
Wiring in harness. Check
Earth working. Check
Globe powered manually in light. Check
IIDTool set to cornering lamps. Yes. Check
Lamps not working. Check. Grrrr.
