Engine Number - Determining Manufacture Date

I had to replace my engine in my 08/2005 made D3 in 2013 due to catastrophic bearing failure (no broken crank though).

Does anyone know when my current engine was (approximately) manufactured just by the number ( 0697484276DT)?

I imagine that any owner of a D3 made in the years 2012-2013 may have a close number. Would forumites please advise either in this topic or by PM so that I can satisfy my curiosity please? Information gained would not be used for any other purpose.

Many thanks in advance

Engines like other parts are delivered to the manufacturing site on a JIT basis so it would be difficult to give a precise date however it is likely to be within a few days or a week of your build date.

I imagined that to be the case that is why I was asking others who may have had a vehicle made in 2011/2013 period what date their engines could have been JITd.

But thanks for your response DG.

I'm taking it you meant "D4" and you're asking for the approx. date of the replacement engine … hence not having access to your own "build date" as all you have is an engine ? Dean.

Yeah - sorry for the confusion. Shocked

The (D4) 2.7 litre engine I sought details of would be an original engine in a 2.7 engined vehicle manufactured between 2011 and 2013 (my engine was replaced in July 2013).

If anyone can give a guide to their build date if their engine number comes close I would appreciate that information. Bow down

My engine number is 0697484276DT

Thanks again
