As far as I know, and the way it was explained to me at the dealers last week was that the TB has been rendered uneccesary by a new design of sensor. The sensor they use now to replace dodgy ones as part of the recall is compatible with the older crankshaft rings. There is therefore no need to replace the ring. The TB was originally issued as the replacement sensors used to be incompatible with the rings and so both needed to be changed.
Just had my sensor recall completed and can't detect any change to the car. Mind you, I didn't have a problem before the recall...D1 300Tdi - gone
D2 Td5 ES (Alive remapped...mmm) - sadly gone
D4 2012 SDV6 XS - Stolen
D4 2014 SDV6 HSE - Shiny

I have a 2010 so not part of the recall, 99.9% I need a new trigger wheel if my sensor is faulty. Rang around today for quotes....quite expensive!
