Hi,
I need to get the crossover pipe done on my car, D3 05. I know it can be a body off, but hopefully not.
What sort of price are you looking at for either eventuality?
Also, whats the best option for the crossover pipe, I've seen some SS aftermarket ones that are about the same price, anyone used one?

sorry, didn't take down the details BUT there is a guy on Facebook who does so many body-off jobs he has it down to 45 minutes, and he's somewhere East-of-Manchester if I've remembered right - so maybe not toooo far from you ?
It doesn't HAVE to be a body off job but 1 of the bolts is both awkward and very prone to breaking, so you need the body off to access it better.
Hope that helps.

Wow 45 minutes! Takes me that long to take the engine and transmission trays off. If you can remember who it is that'd great as East Manchester is definitely doable!! I've been quoted £500-1000 labour depending if the body has to come off. Discovery 4 GS 2009 Auto Stornoway Grey

it was probably in FB "Discovery 3 & 4 Owners Group", so you might find someone who can remember it posts it on there for you.
I thought it impressive too ... and I don't know about transmission trays, it can take me 45 minutes to find my spanners in the shed! (10mm excepted as no-one ever finds those)

I had to get a new crossover pipe last year. Only one I could source was a stainless one off eBay. It was £250. A local LR specialist fitted it for me (body on). He quoted 12 hrs labour, but it was a pig of a job and actually took 17hrs to do. He very kindly discounted the labour to honour his 12hr estimate which I thought was very good of him. - cheers Mark at MB Motors, Huntly.
Then this year I needed to do a bunch of work, so as an amateur mechanic I thought I’d have a go at the body lift job. Using Disco Mikeys excellent guide the body lift took me 1 weekend, then a few weeks with the body/chassis separated to do the turbo, belts and pulleys, compressor, oil pump, water pump, front-back brake pipes and transmission filter/sump. It took me about 1 day to reattach the body and chassis. A massive learning experience. Looking at the crossover pipe (when the body was off), it must have been so difficult with the body on, so I’d say it’s worth lifting the body off if you’ve got a bunch of jobs needing done
