Cruise Control Fix
Recently the cruise control has been dropping out when the reduce speed button has been pressed
Not sure if it was the clock spring or the switch so took out the switch today and took it apart (if it was broken anyway there would be no loss)
Anyway played about with it and tested as much as I could with the multitest meter, emery papered the points where the switches touch the circuit board and the round switch contacts and put it back together.
It now works fine, we'll see for how long but much cheaper than a new switch - equally it could have been the wiring in the steering wheel which I also tested but could not find a fault.

I had a similar thing with the radio control buttons on mine a little while back, buttons doing the wrong functions and such, took the wheel apart and "wiggled" all the wires about where they go into the plugs, been OK ever since.
I think occasionally, where the wires are crimped onto the plug connectors, they don't always make a good connection if the crimp isn't quite formed properly, moving the wire about restores the contact, at least temporarily.Clive
