Yes - don't think it works with the basic 7 pin. Neutral

no it needs the 7 pin white, but its only 2 wire to connect so retro fitting one just for charging purposes is simple enough Thumbs Up

Out of interest, does anyone know if charging through the towing electrics has any impact on the Battery Management System (BMS) fitted by Land Rover on later model D4 and RRS models? My recollection is that BMS is only operational on the vehicles with 3 litre engines and not the 2.7 litre variants.

I've got the same setup as Iggy with the Comfort Connector coming out just under the windscreen. I asked the question about the BMS, and I think it was Drivesafe who gave the answer that the BMS will be happy as long as you connect the +ve to the +ve battery terminal and the -ve to a Gnd point on the chassis and NOT to the -ve terminal on the battery. That way, the BMS senses the current going into the battery and all is Thumbs Up

I presume that the negative in the tow connector goes to an earth point and should be OK?

This looks like a very clean and neat solution. Did you use the 3.3m cable extension or the 1.5m was enough?

The glovebox fuse 48 which governs trailer charging is 15 amps, so don't connect heavy duty battery chargers to it.

I have one of Martins tow connectors for charging the main battery. Works a treat Very Happy

Turning my attention to the smaller SS battery.

Has anyone done anything clever to enable easy charging of the SS battery.

Could I connect a CTEK comfort cable and leave it permanently connected?

The CTEK charger came with a cable that has the eyelets, would this fit the terminals of the SS battery and is there any detriment to leaving it permanently fitted?
