Custom tinting/painting the Headlights
Hey guys i was wondering if any of you could help guide me through disassembling the headlights so i can tint the orange lens and paint the silver part black my 05 LR3(Discovery 3) HSE is black, i have smoked taillights and side markers, and semi-gloss black powder coated Range Rover Supercharged rims (copper zeon LTZ in the near future to replace the stock conti cross contacts) and it would really tie it all together. i have the non-adaptive xenons with projectors.
Thanks
Noah

I read somewere that you dismantle the back as much as you can then have to put the headlight in the oven to realease the bonding that holds the front on ..Hope you got a big oven G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
I would be careful, the softening point of the glue is likely to be within 20-30oc of warping of the plastic.

I'm sure this has been done on here before...
Remember the "I've got the best looking D3 thread" ??
Was not to everyones liking and not sure about legality in the UK. I know a few cruisers who have been served notice to have them removed.

There is a few pictures floating about on this site, and TBH, it looked
Suits some cars, but IMO, not a D3
If you are going to do it though, try using a hairdryer (dont let the missus find out though) and heat it until its almost too hot touch, then gently prise the lens off the casing. Once your all done, re-heat the glue to soften it up again to help reseal it My D3 Build Thread
