D3 4x4 upgrade

Hi i updated my D3 for the 4x4 screen upgrade with my Gap tool which works great.Sometimes when i switch to 4x4 info i can get the compass to show on the right and it will stay on yet other times it comes up briefly then i get a message to say it is not possible to display compass and the screen to the right goes grey and displays nothing can you tell me if i have done anything wrong as the compass works fine in off road mode Idea
Cheers

Hello Geoffsnook
Did you do the 4x4 screen with the standard gap iid tool? I think that a diagnostic tool might be my next purchase. Just trying to work out which one to go for! Lots to read on here!
Regards, James

Thanks for the reply. Nice to hear recommendations. My rear pdc and the fbh are both not working so an iid tool might well be the next purchase. Thumbs Up James

Depends will tell you which sensors are not working but as for the fbh if you have the i icon in the menu on the dashboard it means that the system has been updated with a software update so you can test it but thats about all Yawn

Hi again Jeff.
I'm still looking to get this 4x4 info on my screen. Is there anything happening on the bank holiday coming as i'm off work. Would like to catch up with a few of you guys at some point to feed my brain as to what you can actually do and get out of a d3.
Cheers
Brian

You need to go to ccf's and set the display screen to high spec.

I would recomend that before you do anything you download the guide from the Gap website it tells you what to do and also what to do if it goes wrong.
I would also save your current settings befire changing anything.

When you make changes some things can take a very long time so you need to make sure you have an alternative power supply to stop the battery going flat.
Setting up the 4x4 screen is a good one to start with as it takes seconds, be warned the first time you change things it can be quite scary as all the electronics will suddenly go dead for what seems like ages. its important that you dont do anything just leave it and it will suddenly come back to life, if you look on the app you will see a count down that will tell you when it will be finished.

You learn something every day! In 14 years of the same D3 ownership I never saw the compass, always greyed out, now I know why. Bow down
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
