| Swapping interior from a higher spec D3 |

Hi Folks.
Today Ive been offered a full black leather interior at a bargain price, and everything I need to convert from sahara beige to black trim pieces. My question is simple. Its an 07 D3 breaking, and mine is an 05. I already have leather, but im guessing all I will need to change from the seats is the pre tensioners? Also, the black leather rear cards have radios in them, mine doesnt, will these plug directly into my door looms? It would be handy if the plugs are already there.

On the GS you have a basic audio unit so the controls dont have anything to communicate with
Cant say about the pre tensioners - possibly might be the same units Must stop buying shiny toys....

Ok so I’d need the radio unit aswell, also noticed the other D3 has an aerial on the roof, mine has a blank rubber bung. I’m guessing that will be for the better radio unit.

Unfortunately its not that easy - the low line unit uses a different communication system to the higher units which are modular running on a communication bus network, the fin aerial on the roof will be part of the antenna for the Sat Nav /phone kit
Much easier to just have the door panels with buttons that dont work!  Must stop buying shiny toys....

Thanks for clearing that up. Probably be better to get lower spec black door cards. The SE has more speakers and speakers in the rear quarter, would they still work or would I need to use the original GS speakers? It’s a shame they won’t all plug and play, my Carlton has the loom for electric mirrors but manual mirrors are fitted as it’s lower spec. Same loom throughout the whole spec range.
