D3 to D4 upgrade
I am considering taking the plunge and getting me a secondhand D4
I've currently got an SE spec so was thinking of an XS but do they come as standard with telephone integration or was it an option????
Am I right in thinking that my 17 inch off road wheels won't fit ??
And will the sump protection plate be a straight swap or is that different as well???2000 D2 TD5 - big red tractor no longer with us
2006 D3 - no longer with us and sadly missed
2010 D4 alas no more, but a lovely colour (Nara)
2016 D4 about to depart
2022 DS nearly...........

thanks for the feed back
Had a good think about whats available and I can't think there's anything out there that would be as good a fit as a D3.
The FL2 is just a bit too small
The defenders are a bit too, er, agricultural, for a main drive vehicle (I've got a Def90 300Tdi)
Landcrusier, Shogun.....nah
XC70 / XC90????
It appears that the D4s are starting to become available around the 30k mark.
But the quality of vehicle that that money would buy I am unsure of.
So I think I give the D3 a good clean and look to sell (strip out Sump Plate, Reverse Cam/GVIF, and the Lightforce) and use the little defender in the short term until the right D4 comes along2000 D2 TD5 - big red tractor no longer with us

We just bought a 2010 XS with 18k miles for just over the 30k mark, it's pristine and we are over the moon with it. So I wouldn't see any reason to be wary of condition of vehicles in this bracket, afterall thats only 13k depreciation in 3 years, try an equivalent BMW or a Mercedes and you would be buying closer to 20k!

We just went from a 06' LR3 to a 12' LR4. All I can say is WOW...what a difference. If you take the plunge I can't imagine you would be anything less than thrilled!
