Why does my D3 fart when i get out of it? |
|
Ok... a stupid question and I apologise for what might seem a bit dim to you but everytime i get out of my car the air suspension seem to lower it and the car sounds like it's passing a huge amount of wind. This happens about 30 seconds after i am out of the car.
Also - EGR valves. what are they, why do they need to be blanked, what is the benefit and if it's so good why dosent it come that way.
Ok - do i carry the record for most stupid qustions in 1 post?

the car has OCD and likes to level itself out with the air suspension.
don't know why it needs to try to level itself but that is it! XC90 T8 R Design Pro

Exhaust Gas Recirculation valves circulate exhaust gases back into the engine, often filling up with soot and sludge in the process. When the sludge clogs the valve you get loss of oomph. It's done to keep emissions down. Given that the actual emissions aren't ever tested outside the laboratory, they provide no benefit to the driver. Blanking them prevents this happening.
EDIT - You can only blank EURO III engines (pre-06) I believe. VIN: A175A328***

When I come to unlock my car to go home from work, something pneumatic hisses in the suspension... Is this a self-levelling thing too?

can we add in there the word "legally"
because it can physically be done on all D3 / D4, just on some due to legislation for environment pollution you need to have cleaner exhaust emissions Experience is a difficult teacher, because she gives the test first and then the lesson afterwards!!!!

On the EuroIV vehicles (MY07 and newer), blanking off the EGR valves results in a fault code being registered in the instrument binnacle. While this in itself may not be a problem, it prevents the driver from seeing subsequent faults.
