Dudes
Affermative on good running. two months in and no probs. I've also got a D2 and the D3 is from another world by comparison. The D3 must have gotten under my skin 'cause I have now sold my S3 lighweight and the disco has now replaced her as the official project vehicle. This may be due to the fact that the disco actually works ........
WesThe devil will find work for idle hands to do
I stole and I lied, and why? because you asked me to
I've had my Disco 3 for just 5 months now..
Apart from minor ageing faults, everything has been Just Fine.
In Late June We ( Me , Brother and Friend ) went from Stockholm Sweden,
down via Denmark to Friedrichshafen.
and all the way back again. ( Ham Radio Meet )
That trip became 3900Km on meter..
The only Mishap was that Battery gave up on us. ( Probably 6 Years old as the Car )
And in Late August Beginning September another long trip.
Just my Brother and I.
This time also from Stockholm, Via Denmark, Germany, Holland, Belgium, France and Finally
United Kingdom The Birth Country for Our vehicles..
Had a fantastic 11 days in the region between Dover - Oxford - Southampton.
And thereabouts. 2 visits to Avon Dasset Quarry and some fun in the Mud and water
Also had the opportunity to Book a Fine day in Tongham Surrey at Challenger 4x4,
Where the Guys fitted Hidden Winch, Soft A-Bar, Driving Lights, and Mantec Raised Air Intake..
Fine Job, looks really good Now..
After that Back the Same Way we came.. This time about 4900 Kilometres on Meter..
No mishaps this time, apart from a bit of earth contact on right side Doors and Wheel arch trim rear.
But the Painter has to live also ??
So Conclusion.. After 5 months and driving about 13800 Kilometres..
Still the Best Vehicle i've had so far Jan R.

I forgot to update on my return yesterday ... well I drove all the way to civillisation and back, on the way there I heard a funny chattering sound for a while then it stopped, then there was an almightly slap noise and I realised when swmbo is speaking it is polite to listen and respond and not daydream. The car however ran fantastically not a single issue and as it wil be 7 toward the second half of next year I'm happy with that.

Had mine 6 1/2 years now and going better than ever. Best car I've ever had, by far and can't think of a single reason to change it.
......Managed 27mpg for the journey too which was impressive considering the hills that had to be traversed on the way.....
My Trusty D3 (How it really is & like & the good reason to advertise that fact)...did the journey back from the west of Ireland over saturday & sunday....what a vehicle from a plush motorway cruiser to an off road masterpiece experienced in the same journey - same day.
Ireland realy did get some rain judging by the flooding in Roscommon & Cavan....
Miles of roads that had standing water..there were signs that said roads closed that I possibly didnt see (+ everbody going around them.......but all in all a memorable journey.
SWMBO also did some sub-aqua driving as the most she has done has been level 1 & 2 at LRE....once she realised that you have the scope to do at least 500mm + loads more she enjoyed making huge waves.
I have had my D3 return reallyb high MPG's before but now seem to get about 31 - 33 at a steady 55-60...maybe 30 - 31 with the lowest at 28 at a steady 80 on the motorway..depending on incline (M6 Shap fell)
The Gardi Siochana (Eire Police) were very much in evidence saturday evening - breathalysed 3 times..they see a NI plate & its immediate breath testing.....which contrast with the PSNI who know just who you are when they approach your vehicle & are genuinely interested to know where you have been "over the border"BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Mine is in the windscreen shop getting some shiny new glasses to replace the chipped windscreen that a truck throwing stones broke last week. Meanwhile my broken thumb which I have had two and a half weeks and been to two referrals for finally became worrying enough to cast, with some apparent surprise it hadn't been cast before now funny ole things doctors! The Disco by contrast isn't broken so to those who say they break mine is now officially more mechanically reliable than me

This year I travelled 3,700 miles - 2,500 miles towing the caravan. We drove to Spain, crossed the Pyreneees, along the south of France, up through the Alps to Switzerland, back to France then home via Belgium.
The car was fantastic and the only fault over a three month trip was blown brake light bulb.
I returned 28mpg over the trip.
Since we came home the car has continued to run superbly, whether towing or not.
This is definately the best tow car I have had and i've had Land Rovers for 15 years.

mine ran (as always so far...) great last night while on a lighting install/replacement. Was locked into a supermarket to replace half the fluorecents, luvly 22hr day
carried all the replacement 6ft battens+tubes, ladders, numerous tool boxes, reels cable, my apprentice lol
in superdooper comfort, (prewarmed via pete's fbh controller for re-entry after packing up)
still averaging 27mpg.
best work van Ive ever had
