Bit of a blast from the past, this thread. I think I’ve still got that knackered key hanging in the kitchen some where, bit of a keepsake as I’ve not a lot left from Dark Bluie.

After months of looking at a disintegrating key fob I did my refurbishment yesterday using the RFUK cases from Amazon. Like others I used circlip pliers to open the case after scoring around the key with a Stanley knife. I didn’t replace the battery as I didn’t have a soldering iron to hand so the battery will probably go this week Araldite rapid was used to glue the case back together.

I also didn't change the battery as it looked fine but more importantly had held its charge for 6-9 months whilst the key wasn't being used and still unlocked it first time. Not bad for something 13 years old.
May be tempting fate of course........ Tony
