D3 Spares

In three months time I will be going on a trek from east to west (Byron Bay NSW to Steep Point WA) Thumbs Up with another nine off-road caravans. There will be three Disco 3's Chawton White Zambezi Silver Bonatti Grey in the convoy.

Just in case of any problems Big Cry along the way and days to support any advice on what spares (hoses etc) we should carry would be appreciated.

Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Mr. Green

Looking forward to some photos RetiredBob. Other than the obvious (hoses etc) theres not much else you can take. Unless someone has access to Autologic. A couple who have completed extended desert trips might have better advice.
Wish I was going. Barry.

How long are you taking?
With vans you can carry a fwe more spares. Having travelled the eastern part of your trip numerous times, I always keep spares to a mininum. My experience is that if the vehicle is new and well maintained very little goes wrong. Tyres are going to be the major problem, not many places are going to have 17", 18" or 19" tyres to suit. You need good tyres, not Goodyears. The other potential problem is software and no amount of spares can solve this issue.
Of all the parts I would carry, a SatPhone to call LRA would be useful.
Plenty of beer, wine and good food while you wait for LRA. I'm current planning a double Simpson crossing in July QAA, French, WAA to Mt Dare and back along the Rig Road in 3-4 days, a boys trip to the desert. The only spares are tyres and fuel.
06 TDV6 SE with many LR and after-market extras. Used only on weekends and trips out west.
