D3 won't start after oil change

Hi there,

Just done a fuel filter and oil change on my wife's discovery 3, watched a couple videos and read through some posts on how to do so. I service my defender 90 perfectly fine without issue when needed so figured I'd be ok.

Anyway, changed the oil, followed the steps on video/post, bled the air out and went to start the engine and it won't start. It's turning over, but not firing up. We have tried jump starting it with no result, checked the battery and it's running at 11vaults - so have currently got that on charge, also disconnected the battery and reconnected - no such luck there either.

Has anyone got any suggestions of things I can try?

Thanks in advance

Did you have the doors or tailgate open and the courtesy light on whilst doing it.
Battery flattens very quickly.

(you can turn the auto courtesy lights off - hold the middle light button in for 3 secs)

and reverse it to have them on auto again

not put the fuel pipes back on in the correct order Question

or turn ignition on, wait 30 seconds, turn off.

repeat 4 times to prime fuel.

Rapid clicking sounds like a battery too flat to run the starter properly.

Is it a Euro 3 or 4 engine? There is a Schrader valve on the EU4 engines central at the back of the V in the cylinders where you can bleed air out.

Although in all the times I've put a new fuel filter on mine, I've never had to use it. Just cycled the ignition until the fuel pump sounded normal.
New gearbox & TC, 3 x front wheel bearings, belts changed, new oil pump, new battery, new rear prop, new front prop, new front diff, front arb refurbed, front cv boot kit, egr blank and BAS software patch, full rear suspension / drivelive rebuild, new front arms, LED trailer light fix, split charge.
Never had a 107, 90 or 127, but have had most of the rest!

That sounds a bit like a power issue IMHO is that not the starter solenoid trying to engage the starter but lacking enough juice to spin the starter over ? Thumbs Up

Think it makes a difference to how much fuel is in the tank as well. Sure I’ve read that if the tank is low it makes it a bu**er to self bleed.

All sorted now, thank you for the suggestions!

It was low on fuel (around 40miles left in the tank) so went and got 10litres and put it in. Hooked it up to fathers car and jump started it - turned over a few times, didn't work, so bled a bit more air out, tried again and it worked!
