Your right about 2 of those things.

i have had the honour of driving a new jag with the 3.0 twin turbo engine, which i presume will be the choice in the LR4 given the body weight etc.
All i can say is wow, we used to have a TDV8 RRS at work and i thought that engine was sublime. However, that new Jag engine is best diesel i have ever driven. The person who had the car was a jag director and he used to run a BMW 535 when he was working there. His opinion is new auto box and engine are in a league of their own and have got the germans sh t scared.
All i can say is better engine, better auto has to mean better car. At end of day, ride comfort is sublime already, dash is pretty average quality so needs improving. Only down sides are lack of power from engine.
Biggest issue, new name means even more crippling depreciation for the cars that are left behind with the "old" D3 badge

its a bit sad to read that an upgrade is coming...and our D3 will be soon "old" models....

I wonder if the centre lower part of the front bumper will be easily removable to allow easier winch fitting.In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

The D1 lasted 9 years; the Series 2 only 6; looks like the D3 will only be 6 too. Seems to be what the market dictates.No longer a D3 owner but still subscribed to multiple threads!
new 19 inch wheels, 14 spoke but in a u shape stylie!
A new clock under the sat nav screen
The TR nob will be situated further forward
A less square centre consul
A Start button and automatic lock/unlock
Lot more stuff on steering wheel.
Telephone controls fitted flush on steering wheel.
A few more colour changes too - I reckon a new blue and bronze colour.Loving the power of the TDV8!

Yep....this was my original question....
I think it means that the D3 lifespan will only be 5 years, not 6 which is what I find strange for a model that has won so many awards and hasn't been critiscised or had its' sales hampered by a poor design.2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG
