Not being able to pipe the toonz in via BT, I still want the phone in the cradle for google maps etc so need to connect it to the end of the curly lead. A 1m "extension" lead should do the trick but want to make sure they work before flashing the credit card.
TIA

From my experience Apple products are a pain and when I have brought leads from Ebay or Amazon it always come up on my iPhone as "accessory not supported" and I've wasted money on a lead that doesn't work! I tend to go straight to Apple now.

Got a Layen iDock BT thingie in the D3 but I don't think it works in the D4. Will double check.
PS Yes, as before it doesn't want to play. Phone connects to the iDock but the car just shows "device error".

Del
I use a combination of (in the order of cubby box to iPhone 6s)
1) Non-OEM curly LR/iPod lead (it's actually straight)
2) One of those eBay cheapy extensions as per your link
3) An official Apple Lightening to 30-pin adapter
...and it works fine. I think as the 30-pin extension in the middle is pretty much a 'straight through' lead pin-to-pin, it's fine. However, the Lightening to 30-pin adapter (#3) has to be Apple (or a decent version) as it has to provide the 'iPod Out' that was dropped from the 30-pin port.

Any links for items 1 & 2? Got a cheap version of item 3 (for £3) from Amazon, if it doesn't work will just bunk it back for a refund. ISTR the "official" Apple item is something like £39.

1) Sorry, no - It was so long ago now it's out of my history. When I get home later this week I'll look back through old emails to see if I can find the receipt!
2) Same - Let me look on Friday!

No worries. Been looking at the "genuine" 30 pin to lightning adaptors on fleabay, fair few of them at the £17 - £18 mark but no idea if really genuine or not.

Just looked at the details of the £3 one I bought on Amazon, it just does charging and data, no voice, so back it will go. Should have looked more carefully.

The 30 pin to lightning adapter I posted above works fine for £20. It's genuine apple, just not in any retail packaging.D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

No, these cables do not work, you need the Land Rover to iPhone adapter, but unfortunately that only comes in the 30 pin format, but i got this one and it works perfectly
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Jagua...SwUfNXSQeB
If you want to use it for the later ipods/iphone with lightning socket, you have to but the official apple adapter, otherwise it will not work.
Also, this cable will only work with iTunes i believe, so no Spotify etc, but you can select your playlists etc from the touch screen.
I ended up whacking a load of music onto an old iPod, suits me fine now

Got an old iPhone that I was using but it's too old to run Apple Music, not sure if I can put that on it manually without being charged. Ordered one of the genuine Apple 30 pin to lightning rat's tail ones, will hive me enough stretch to put it in the cradle.
Well that's the plan anyway.

Spotify works fine, you just have to let the vehicle start the iPod/iPhone off in Music and then you can manually select any app to play music, e.g. Spotify (or even Youtube etc.). When using spotify my track forward/reverse works using the wheel or dash buttons but isn't quite as responsive.D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

Just to confirm the pucka Apple widget works a treat in both cars. Now got all the Apple Music bangin toonz in the D4, which my old iPhone 4 couldn't provide.
