D4 Fuel Consumption....
This is probably a subject raised many times although a search has not revealed anything!
I have now had my D4 HSE SDV6 for about a month and have just had a trip down to Kent and back. I have been 'brimming' the tank since I got the car (which has done just over 9k miles) to keep a check on the mpg.
The first check reveals an mpg of just over 15 but that is mainly stop start driving around home.
The second check, after a run down to Kent plus some travelling around down there showed 27.8mpg.
The on-board computer was giving me a reading of 35mpg average on the way down. I do not expect the computer to be accurate but it does seem to be a bit too much out.
What sort of fuel economy is anyone else getting from their D4's?2017 Discovery Sport HSE, Firenze Red

Only picked ours up yesterday and funnily enough it was showing a historic average of 27.8, better than our long term average of 24.4 on our D3.
Time will tell

In my first 230 miles or so I am displaying 31.6.
Is it a smaller tank on the D4 than the D3, range is showing only around 430 or so?????Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Around the doors I manage 23.69mpg (all calculated on brimming the tank) Had a run down to Cambridge last weekend about 225 miles each way. On the way down the computer said 31.5mpg but the actual was 28.51mpg and on the way back the computer said 34.3mpg whereas the actual was 30.51mpg.Cheers Ian

My D4 has done 20,640 miles at an average of 27.66 mpg.
All types of terrain and driving have been covered in that distance. However, a recent trip from Surrey to Leeds and back (virtually all motorway) gave 31.8 mpgAndrew

Mines' been doing a disappointing 23.8 for the last few months.
It went in for some warranty work and I was offered a £39 fuel flush/check - not sure what really but said yes.
Since then its going up and last weekend my average was 25.4 and creeping up.
Also noticed that the "distance to fill " on Fill-up used to be 320 miles (pants) but since this treatment it regiestered 390 at fill up at the weekend.

The "Lieometer" does what it says.....LIES!!
I find that if I take 2-3 miles off what it says, then that's about right. At present my 2012 HSE is doing an average of 26mpg true across the board. The car has done 7500 miles since March and I was told by an Indie here near Bath when I bought my first Disco4 in 2010 that the car's mpg would improve after 10k miles.
He was dead right, the mpg went up by nearly 3mpg. I have no doubt it will on this model too.

So what range are people showing to a tank, mine won't go much over 440 even though my true mpg was 28 and indicated 31.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

I have a Mar 2011 D4 HSE and I get around 29.2mpg and have done about 30K miles so far. I do a bit of everything, so country roads, town, A3 and once a month M25/M1.
