D4 HSE auto seat question |
|
Hi guys... I have an 06 HSE and thinking of a D4.. On my D3 if I open the car the seat goes to my position and if wifey opens it the seat moves to hers.. I guess with keyless entry that feature isn't on the D4?

Yes as long as you and your wife use different smart keys it still works exactly the same as the D3

Well I didn't know that! Is there a way to program this or is it just which key is in use when the seat position is saved? Rich

I can only speak for the D3 which memorises where the seat is when the car is locked, when it's opened with the same fob if the seat has been moved it returns to where it was for that fob.... Hope that makes sense..

I don't know about the D3 but on the D4 HSE it is also possible to program 3x (if i remember correctly) seat positions into the memory so once programmed its only a case of pressing a button on the drivers door to get your seat into the correct place - if that makes sense

Does anyone else find that the drivers seat "forgets" every so often and you have to reprogramme?

Going the other way at my age I'm afraid!
I've had to reprogramme two or three times since getting the car new in March this year.

Yep, get in mine sometimes and the seat is way out of position without anyone being near it !
A quick press of one of the buttons and it returns to right position .......... LR once again at it's best !

Had Lazy Entry on my D3 and that used to get screwed up occassionaly, always seem to revert to Memory 3 - my umpa lumpa daughter when it went wrong yet the two key fobs were set to Memory 1 & 2 for me and SWMBO.
If was easy to see if it happened as seat moved to about 3 inches from the steering wheel, just pressed the memory button before I got in and all was OK for another couple of weeks.
I just put it down to Land Rover funnies D4 HSE - Aintree Green
D4 Orkney my13 - gone
Stornaway D4. Gone, Didn't like it at all
D3 silver manual. Loved my first LR

I leave my steering column in the Auto Position. The Entry and Exit mode is supposed to move the seat and steering column. (Presumably it just moves a set amount from the driving position as how else will it know whether I'm fat or slim?)
The handbook p24 doesn't mention when but it seems to occur when the driver's door is opened after the ignition is switched off and the driving position restored when the ignition is switched on after the driver's door is closed. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. However I am always able to restore the driving position by pressing one of the memory position buttons.
Could this Auto function/non-function be confusing you or your seat memory function?
