It never came on automatically in any of the 3 x D3’s that I owned.

Mine definitely comes on without me pressing the button. Same as it releases itself if I drive off without pushing the button down.Defender 110 2.4 TDCi Utility Station Wagon.

Wonder if it's something more associated with a manual gearbox. I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Had it on my LHD manual D3 but when I had it serviced in Finland the guy turned it off... I was quite used to it by then I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!
