I think the ones in the D4s have a larger hole which doesn't block so easily.

Certainly took mine out a while back and that's how it looks and I've never changed it Thumbs Up

Mine’s not been looked at for the 50k miles the car’s done. From end of next week she’ll be doing ~7k miles in 3 weeks so was wondering if it was worth cleaning, or whether it’s something I could screw up and lead to issues when I least wanted them. Confused

I had mine out a few months back and it was black similar to the D3’s. Cleaned both the MAP’s and MAF’s with MAF sensor cleaner and has run smooth/well since. MY2012 with 60k.

Just don’t stick anything down the hole which might touch the sensor, this seems to be the biggest problem. I used copious amounts of the MAF sensor cleaner and it worked well with no issues.

Same routine for getting at the MAP sensor as with the D3?

I believe so, remove top engine cover and it’s straight in front of you, ¾ up the engine. Remove, clean, replace and cover back on again. Don’t remember it being anymore difficult than that.
