My MY13 D4 after 1k miles is doing around 20 to the gallon. The old D4 was doing 25 when run in combined.
I'd hate to work out the fuel it goes through per month. good job we have a little VW Up! As an Eco car for the family! 2023 Ineos Grenadier 3.0 Diesel Commercial

My my13 D4 doing 26.7 according to the road trip app. Only 733 on clock and thats using v power.
Usually v power bumps up the mpg was getting nearer the 30mpg sticking to speed limit in last D4.
We too are using runabout, but its an A4 and thats getting 47.9 mpg.
Hopefully when the cold spell goe's and its loosened up things will improve.
The last D4 did much better mpg, better not let the wife near my phone just incase she sees the truth. !

If I wanted to import 4 years worth of data for my D3 from a spreadsheet what format is needed.
I anticipate CSV, but fields?

Mine is one week old. Drove 600 km yerstoday. Mainly hihgway and average speed 85 kmph. Computer displayed 7,4.l/100 km. I was very pleased - until I filled tank up. True consumption was 8,9 L /100 km So real life consumption is +20%... Unbelievable Discovery MY13 4 TDV6 SE

I've came to the conclusion that ignorance is bliss. Best not to investigate these things too close for fear of receiving bad news.
It's not gonna win eco-car of the year, let's put it that way!If in doot, flat oot!!

D4 vs D3
I have had the D3 for three years and I was expecting the new D4 2010 to have better fuel economy. In the commercials they are talking about improved efficiency by 20%. Truth is though that it needs about 1 litre / 10 km, +10%, more than the 2.7 L D3.
Also the MPG display is off by about 20%. Actually the MPG display shows numbers really in line with the MPG stated in the commercials.
I have been thinking that the MPG display might show only the real consumption for moving the vehicle, excluding added consumption due to equipment like air condition, pre heater, electronic devices etc.

Whilst the dash MPG display is annoying, at least the real-world MPG is slowly improving as she gets run in:

Hoping that warm weather will see me towards 30 MPG.

Aye, they're certainly liars! Readout when I just filled up 36.9 mpg, true on brim to brim on same pump, and on app 31.58 mpg. I bet the readout is deleted in the USA or LR would be bankrupt!
