D4 MPG Display
I know a few D3 owners suffered with overly optimistic MPG display but mine was dead-on; even if that was painful reading sometimes.
Just had my first tank through my D4 and given the cold weather, brand new engine etc I was not expecting much but the displayed MPG is pretty pants and is in error by 6.5 MPG:
398 miles on trip (429 total), 65.8 litres used = 27.5 MPG true
D4 display reset at same point as fill = 34.0 MPG displayed
As an aside I got used to 525 miles max range on my remapped D3. With only 52 miles left when I filled this equals 450 miles. Smaller tank does not help so lets hope it improves as the engine gets run in...Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

After 17k in a MY12 Robbie, I'm getting 27.5 on a combined basis. On the long stuff I can get about 33 and just toodling around (stop/start) country lanes and shopping about 26 so don't hold your breath.
Adding two stroke for four tank fulls in succession and the odd 250ml of Redex seems to have made no difference at all.

Confident that the MPG will get better in the summer but the inaccurate MPG display is going to bug me. There is no good reason as to why it should be out by 6 MPG.
Perhaps the LR subliminal message works on some but the maths does not lie. It's a car shaped like a brick that weighs best part of 3 tonnes and it burns more than its fair share of diesel - so give me an accurate MPG display!Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

I use Fuel Log app for android and mine more or less exactly mirrors what Hairy Dan's says. Only difference is the lieometer says I am averaging 23.7mpg! My mileage to date is 11237. The actual average on Fuel Log is 19.8mpg!!
I have been using the car a lot off road and my commute to work is only 4 miles each way, so I suppose it isn't totallu unexpected. I just wish the Lieometer would tell the truth!!
