D4 MY13 UK Delivery Problems
My dealer says that my D4 originally expected late December or early January will be delayed by a few months.
Apparently the change to the new model year and the wider international demand means that the car will not be here until March or April.
Pretty disappointed at the thought of a 6 month wait, to say the least. Anybody close to LR know what is going on?Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Well, that's pretty damn lousy!
A couple of weeks, ok, but a couple of months ... that's just not acceptable!
Edited to add: That'll put demand up on the nearly new D4's, especially with winter coming in.

First MY13 not due off the production line for another week or so.
Need to get them out to Dealers and LR Experience Centres and then start meeting deliveries to customers.
Also need to replace a couple damaged on the A34 yesterday.
Unfortunately for customers demand is running higher than LR can produce the vehicles and as your Dealer indicated there is strong demand from overseas buyers who're prepared to pay a premium price for their shiny new LR or RR. The factory is already running 24 hours a day to try and meet demand.
I know none of that will make you feel any better about your delay and I feel for you.
Try and get your Dealer to give you one or more Experience Vouchers to make up for the delay and at least you'll get to see whay you're missing!

Is there much of a diffrence between the MY12 and MY13 discos? And my mum has the same problem with her new skoada, she orderd it around april/march, and was told it would be ready july (i think)! but still hasnt got it hopefuly she should have it soon!! Its so bad for the company, you would think they would want to get the cars to the custerms quicker so it dosent look like there not to botherd about the custermer! and all the dealers lose out as they have valued the car but between then and now the car is de-valued even more so thats even more reason to get the car done quicker! its just redicules

Common issue with many cars these days - more profit in LHD markets. If I was you, I would buy a used D4 and wait for the D5.

Unfortunately this sort of thing is par for the course... my D4 Commercial was ordered in August and delivered the following February having gone through the pain of a model year change and then shortage of 3.0L engines - damn frustrating I would agree...
However, at the time, I had a good old moan at a mate who provides lease vehicles - it turns out that most manufacturers were working to orders and don't actually hold any stock these days. They have now discovered that punters will wait 6 months for a vehicle of their choice and so this has become common practice.
As has been said elsewhere, the export market is moving so well at the moment that it is sucking up most of the capacity!
Keep on at your dealer and see what they will do for you - I suspect not much unless you are a fleet buyer!
Good luck!!!D4 Commercial - 65 Plate, 2016MY
D5 Commercial - Handed back when I left that job…
D4 Commercial (2014MY) - gone
D4 Commercial SDV6 - Baltic Blue (also gone)
D1 300TDi... 2" lift, HD bumpers (both), detachable tow hitch, 9,500lb winch, 235/85/16 muds and plenty of other toys (gone to make way for the next toy...)
Smiles per Mile - Tornado Motorsports caged Evo 3... 100" Defender look-alike, with Range Rover running gear - all fully IVA'd and registered!

My Commercial was ordered in April with a delivery of sometime in September. That came and went and was advised 12/10 but last week I was advised that it wouldn't be delivered then as they had "panel shortages".. Apparently the car is built but is stuck in conversion department.Very dissapointed with no committed date in sight

Mine is an early MY06 but I agree with the sentiment.

It's always nice to get a new car. Personally I wish that I bought a new D4 a couple of years ago but as I did not, I will now sit it out to the D5. My D3 is seven years but has under 70000 miles so fingers crossed!
