D4 Rear Brake

We have been experiencing judder on braking and it has been getting worse. All front brakes have been renewed recently and rear pads still have reasonable amount of meat on them (4mm). No sign of problems with discs.

Decided to replace rear pads to see what happened, so removed the old ones, cleaned everything up and put on new LR pads. Juddering disappeared completely.

Somewhat puzzled. Old pads were LR genuine parts and both clipers seem to be moving smoothly.
