...but you can do something similar to the D3/D4 conversion with the Freelander if you use a newer Freelander Steering wheel and the BBS parts. So basically you upgrade your steeringwheel from old to new look. Did that conversion together with my brother on his 2008 FL2

Agree the D3/D4 steering wheel WILL NOT fit a FL2.
As you rightly say, one is hex, the other is splined.
What "the one an only ...." forum member is referring to is upgrading his FL2 steering wheel from the older (D3) style to a (D4) style wheel, and to do that you need the electronics (for the switches) from BBS.I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.
