You are not alone. It would seem that quite a few of us on here would wish to retain our autonomy and be free choose where we should be supportive, or critical, of Land Rover, as we see fit Thumbs Up

I was talking about the rear view really. The side profile does follow the family look. The front is a bit different but the RRS will be getting the slit vents in the lower front valance corners so will tie in with D5.

United Kingdom 2010 Discovery 4 3.0 TDV6 HSE Auto Nara BronzeDiscovery 4

All the Discos so far - D1 to D4 - have looked like Discos - granted, the D1s and D2s look dated now alongside the D3 and D4, but they still look like Discos.

The D5 has lost that look. Without the badge, you'd be pushed to distinguish it from other SUVs.

I am not saying that this is a bad thing - I'm sure that there will be lots of buyers who love the look and see the 1- 4s as old hat. But for me, it's lost the look which set it apart from other SUVs.

I have decided I officially like the lop-sided, stupid looking rear number plate. It'll help me figure out which is the jelly mould LRs I'm looking at. Whistle

United Kingdom 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Zambezi SilverDiscovery 3

It's a mass market design that will sell well but is pretty tame and generic. In the constant pursuit for better economy/lower costs/higher profit then it was inevitable that the design would become more homogenous - you can see the same with nearly all other makes BMW, Audi etc. They all have the odd model that is different (i8 or RS8 for example) but they are all pretty dull. Maybe a new Defender will break the mould?

I'm not so sure that Gerry McGovern's forward slanted and body coloured C pillar was originally "borrowed from" the Saab 9-5 after all:

Could it go all the way back to 1984?:
