D4 vs. D3 comfort
Hi all,
For those of you who have had a Disco 3 previously do you find the Disco 4 more comfortable?
Lead to believe there are no suspension changes so ride should be the same but the seats do look to be more plush and supportive.
Must admit I don't find the D3 seats overly comfortable mainly because the fixed headrest seems to be positioned too far forward.
On a side note, how do you find the D4 reliability? Dealer told me the other day that a D4 is around 25% more reliable than a D3.
Would appreciate your feedback.
Thanks

For both myself an swmbo we do not find the seats in the D4 as comfortable as our old D3.
We get lower back twinges after drives of over a couple of hours, never had that on the D3.
After checking with LR, the seat base cushion is indeed different to that of the D3.
One of these things I was going to change, but so far never got around to it.
But overall, the D4 is a much much nicer drive than the D3...... IMO.I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

I found the D3 and D4 no different in ride, a tired D3 will obviously be worse but mine has all new suspension and bushes, the slightly longer seat bases in the D4 still gave me no preference. The 8 speed with with paddles however - yes, yes, yes!!!Captain Nick Medhurst would ask:

I would Reply:

Find the D4 quieter, more refined and it rides better with a little less roll in the twisty bits. Tyre noise is the same as a D3, so a little more more noticeable with everything else being a little more refined.
The seats are different from the D3 but I found both to be comfortable. I didn't suffer with the D3 headrests (just), but the wife did so I know what you mean. In this regard the D4 is a step forward but we miss the cybermen.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

The D4 is a little more together on a twisty B road, but day to day , very little noticable difference.D4 3.0 SDV6 GS 13

D4 is better all round (except the lack of storage around the centre console)
although I still miss my D3 Duncan

Yup, I found the d4 a little more harsh, but I think that is due mainly to 19 inch wheels rather than 18s, but very little in it. Seats are better, far prefer the D4 style over the d3 onesJoined the BMWX5 45e group

I find the seats and suspension a little firmer on the D4. Suspension I prefer but seats I find less comfy than the D3. Bit like ronp above. Wouldn't put me off going D4 though.

Might be the ridge that runs down the middle of the seat on the D4 XS.

I don't find my d4 much different to my old d3 on a long drive. My wife prefers the interior on the 4 by a big margin too.
