D5 Namib Orange SE TD6

Well said goodbye to the D4 this morning. It will be missed but loving the D5, Namib Orange is stunning in the flesh, especially today in the sunshine. I will give a review after I've put a few miles on the clock.

Interesting colour choice. I don't know if its just me, but the colour seems to shrink the car. It looks more the size of Discovery Sport. Either that or its too much vino! Laughing

Cheers guys

It's not everyone's cup of tea but I'm enjoying it, comfortable to drive, very smooth. The steering wheel feels thin, with it being from the FFRR I was expecting it to be thicker than it is. My one has the standard Incontrol system and seems to work pretty well, none of the problems the Incontrol Pro system has. The arm rests on the front seats aren't up to much, the centre cubby makes a better one, it's at a nice height. I noticed on the D5 you can have the flappy paddles active in D and S or just active in S.

The loadspace does look smaller than the D4 but that's not an issue for me, the plank works well and feels sturdy, I had a little seat on it today. Had a passenger in the back but it was only a short journey so not really putting it to the test.

As for the rear end it's not pretty and the brake lights are very small for such large light units, though they seem bright enough.

I ain't a reviewer but it's the basics, I'll update as I played around or find annoyances.

Just an illusion, had it on some narrow lanes and it does feel rather large.

LRs colour palette isn't that inspiring, and this being my 9th I'm running out of choices Laughing £1660 option though Shocked

Cheers guys

It's the 3.0ltr TD6, only milk and juice come in 2.0ltrs Laughing

I was concerned that the 19" alloys would look silly with the cars extra bulk but I'm pretty pleased with them, even though they are the same as the DS. It's a nice touch with the keys, you get handed a presentation box whic had a little letter saying with compliments from etc and a couple of nice key rings rather than the dealer key ring.

One thing I would say, anyone thinking about buying, I opted for the aluminium linear trim finisher at £125 instead of the piano black but it looks nothing like the brochure and is infact grey plastic with lines on it, it's not horrible and it does break the blackness up but it's not worth £125.

That looks like the first MOD, install the sliding cup holder to allow the big storage pocket underneath

Have LR sorted out what I thought was a pain at the launch? The plank retracted when the tailgate was closed electrically but not when closed manually causing it to hit and mark the plank.

Only used the tailgate electrically haven't tried manual yet.

It's annoying that the car has the capacity for all the little cubby holes but they only reserve it for top end models. It's not like the SE is poverty spec, my one was just shy of £54k Shocked. Probably the first and last time I'll have a car at that price.
