3rd row storage bins are useless though, they aren't as deep as the current car. I found that out on my test drive, I assumed they were as deep if not better, obviously not.
In facia storage only available on HSE & HSE Lux. Why?
Top glovebox not available on S spec, again why?23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Back on thread...I do at least one 1500 mile trip each year with 6 in the car. Only possible and fun because all the passengers are comfortable. WE configure like a coach, 2, 2,2, with middle seat down so easy to talk. Will be very sad if I cannot find a car as comfortable when current d4 due for replacementd4 HSE

The D5 is more comfortable, quieter & has a far better ride than the D4 especially for seven people.
Has the bonus of not grazing hands when manipulating seats.
My opinion but I own a D4 and have driven a D5 for 50/60 miles.Peter

Thanks Peter, that is good to know. Just a thought, are you able to drop the middle seat down independently as in the d4?d4 HSE

Yes, and it's got coffee holders in it, but if your unsure don't take my word please get a test drive and take people with you, make sure you are happy.... it's a lot of money to spend.

Interesting pictures. Is it me or do the images show the rear tapering / narrowing in at the rear?New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)

It is weird and it must taper in I guess, but stood by the car you do notice it.
From the overhead images it looks like it comes in by a significant amount.

I totally agree with more comfortable and quieter for the front two passengers (with the TDV6)... not sure the other five passengers would agree after a few miles?
You definitely need to try with a few friends before spending a load of dosh and realising it doesn't work !!!2005 D3 HSE 2011 D4 Landmark 2016 D4 HSE Lux

I had 6 on my 50/60 mile test drive including dealer, two (dare I say rotund ) friends in second row thought it was very comfortable, admit child was in third row.
I normally change car every three years (held on for this) so if it's a bad as you say I won't be shy in saying.Peter
