Dashboard illuminations

I have just noticed ( Friday) that when my headlights are on early morning ( when cold) it takes a few minutes of driving ( up to 5 mins) before the dashboard illuminations come on?

All other lights are ok such as battery/airbag/park brake/indicators just the illuminations?

Has anyone else go this? is it because it is daylight outside even though my headlights are on manual?

Thanks in advance

Mine did this on 2 consecutive mornings when it was -7 and -4 deg C, hasn't done it since, but if it happens again I'm gonna see if moving the brightness adjustment wheel does anything. A few others have had this also I believe. Not too concerned about it, I'm hoping it's just a dodgy switch (not too costly to fix). Rolling Eyes

I mentioned this issue last timne I sam my LR dealer. They reckoned that if the battery voltage is low then the car prioritises the electrical circuits and these dash lights are low down the list. Once the alternator has had time to put some charge into the battery the lights come on.

DaveS, I've heard of this, (it's called 'load shedding' I think) I sincerely hope that this is the case, and could possibly explain why dash lights illuminate after driving for a few mins, Thumbs Up but I NEVER believe what dealers say Whistle , we need someone like TFC to confirm this.......IAIN WTFAY?
