Dead Radio

Dead radio on my D3 Sad just all of a sudden no power to it. Think I checked all fuses correctly.

Do you think I would find a small in-line fuse at the rear of the radio?

Any other suggestions?

Cheers Paul

This is gonna sound as flunky to you as it did to me..... but I did it, and it worked on mine! Rolling Eyes

Do a Hard Re-set.
i.e. Open the bonnet, remove ignition key and wait for the car to 'go to sleep' (suggest opening driver's window first, just in case!), then remove both the cables from the battery terminals and touch the two cables together for a few moments. Just to be clear, you're touching the two 'loose ends' together here; DO NOT be connecting the two terminals on the battery together. That would be bad. Very bad. Whistle
[what I actually did is removed the positive terminal (RED), made sure it was isolated away from the bettery, and then used a piece of test cable to connect the positive cable end to the negative cable end]

Apparently, doing this makes the little mouse inside the dashboard run backwards on his wheel for a bit, which tricks the radio into behaving itself! Wink
(or it could be something completely different - but it worked for me! Mr. Green )

Or disconnect positive lead and earth it to the frame with a spanner or something. See thread here: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic103.html
