Dealer turn on Timed Climate?
Hi there,
Due for a service shortly, can a dealer (obv for a cost) turn on timed climate on my MY15 Disco?

They can, but I'd be very surprised if they will.Jaguar I-Pace HSE imminent.

do it yourself takes about an hours to install all goodies and enable via IIDTool
might take a few days less that via dealer or weeks less

I don't think anything needs to be installed for Timed Climate.

if one want remote you need receiver with antennae and fob to run it remotely
it can be enabled without remote radio function but who would want it

Yes, but he asked about timed climate.
I personally wouldn’t bother with the remote unless you live somewhere without phone signal! Altox would be a better use of money I think.

How much does the altox kit work out at? Is it plug and play or does it need enabling. I don't have an IID tool or access to one nearby

I had it done on a D4 by an Indy LR garage. They charged me £25 to do it. Took about 5 mins tops.

I still think a main dealer would look at you like you had a welly on your head if you asked for this.
I doubt they have the capability wrongly believing it's a factory only mod, but if I'm wrong, like a man in an orthopedic shoe, I'll stand corrected. Mods:

The dealers have the kit, but will not do it because
a. it’s against orders from LR ie if its not standard factory config it shall not be done and
b. They probably wouldn’t know what their kit can actually do apart from the things they’ve been taught by LR in the first place.
Get an Indy with IID or similar to do it for you, its a simply CCF change to enable timer climate. Whilst there, get them to also enable remote option whilst in there, that way if you do decide to add the reciever and antenna later you won’t need to get it done again.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Thanks for responses to date, due to drop it to an ex LR dealer / indie for a service. Hopefully they might have the gear.

So, the actual story is that dealers can indeed turn on timed climate with their SDD tool. Some dealers have done this, but very VERY few dealers are interested in doing it or even know the steps that they need to take in SDD in order to do this.
I have even enabled this at dealers premises (at customers request) because they were frustrated that the dealer was adamant it couldn’t be done....Bodsys Brake Bible
