The LR Multi Height Hitch is a separate option as it is semi-fixed (although goes into the same chassis thingo)
I thought that one would at least get a standard ball with the standard tow hitch. (like every other car I've bought) Have a nice day!

Jamo, I was the same as you. Car came with the tow pack as you say but then cost me $246.00 for the detachable hitch and ball. I was quite shocked really but couldn't be bothered really.  Just wanted to jump in a drive her away.  It is probably written in the fine print somewhere but I didn't see it.  06 RRS TDV6, Java/Alpaca, Dynamic Pack, 20" Stormers, Tints All Round, S/C Grille/Vents, Roof Rails & Cross Bars, Front & Rear Lamp Guards, Towpack, Cherry Wood Hockey Sticks and now thanks to TB, ..doors trims as well.......Oh and the must have Tasmods!
1988 RR Highline, 3.5 EFI Arctic White, ARB Bullbar, Roof Rails, 15" Alloys, Front and Rear light Grilles, Side steps. (Still going strong)

Robbiemyboy, if you haven't made the final decision yet, here is something to ponder.
Oh, and you'll have to consider the type of towing you want to do (if any) and make a decision about the tounge and the height of the towball.

I disagree with rule three, otherwise I'd be driving a Prado now. sometimes it pays to listen to your heart as there is no point in being penny wise and miserable. good find though LeighW

Careful CW, someone might make your dealer an offer he can't refuse for that nice new shiney D3 he's got there now. That would definately result in 
When you going to pick it up? You gotta be counting the hours now??

Cat, I have bought my last seven new cars by carefully not allowing the heart to rule. Each has been the car we required for the time.
I have never regretted not letting the heart take over, but came close mind you. But, on the other hand, the Discovery 3 purchase has proved to be a win/win (with PermaGrin thrown in for FREE!!) occasion.
If it's any help for you, many on the forum know how you feel about counting the hours until you can pick up your baby.
Go over it with a fine-toothed comb and spend as much time as possible with the dealer before you drive off into the wild blue yonder with the self-satisfied grin of someone who didn't purchase a Playdough...

Hi Guys
Thank so much for all your help. I ended up buying a new Range Rover Sport. The dealer gave me the car for 24 hours, after that there was no doubt. The car i bought is Bonetti Grey, with towpack, tint and rubber range rover floor mats for 87,500 driva away. I think this is good deal and the car feels, well, right.
Hope to see you out there sometime.
